Hi Cory,
I hope your new foster dog is adapting well to life in your
home. I wanted to take a second to thank you for all your help during Neo's adoption process. He and Rocky are just like
long-lost brothers. They're even sharing their toys! J
We bought Neo a brand-new crate and all the other necessities…
Neo LOVES to jump up on the couch with us and sleep in bed as
well. As fun and warm as that is, we're in the tough process of teaching
him to stay down. It took Rocky a while to learn it, so we know it will
take some patience. We bought Neo a nice new bed, so we're showing him
that his bed is much better than ours!! We put his bed next to Rocky's, so hopefully having a companion near him will
help.
I'm enclosing a picture of the Rocky and Neo -
they're QUITE a pair...energetic, playful, and always ready for tons
of attention from their parents! I hope you don't mind,
but we decided
to change Neo's name... After much debate and staring
at him trying to figure out "what he was", we decided on
Hershey. He started responding to it right away, although he's so attentive
he responds to pretty much everything we say!

…later
that day…
Cory,
We
would love to share our story on your website! Please feel free to use
whatever I've said in our few emails, and I have a "photoshopped"
version of the same photo I sent you earlier that I'll include in this message
(less flash reflection is their eyes).
I'm
so thankful for the work that Angel Dogs does. Jon and I had talked about
finding a new dog for months, but you made it so easy for us by being out at
the Celtic Festival with Hershey (then Neo). I've always believed that I
would know when the right dog crossed my path (that's how we got Rocky, in
fact), and I knew Hershey was meant for us as soon as I saw him that day.
I
also have so much respect for you as a foster mom. It takes so much
dedication and strength to be able to love and care for a dog that you know
won't be with you very long. But I guess it helps to know that the dogs
you take care of are going out to other loving homes. J

Hi Cory,
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I just wanted to update you
on Hershey...he's doing so well. He's slowly learning our words, like "upstairs", "bed", "dinner", and "get down",
although the last one still needs work.
He will still sneak up onto the bed from time to time, but a harsh word and a
quick shove get him back down in his own bed. He hasn't ever had an
accident in the house, and I think he's happy with us. He and Rocky
compete for attention, especially from me, but I try to give them each their
own special attention. They LOVE to run laps around the back yard chasing each other, and
they still haven't gotten into any major fights. We're all having such a
great time!
I hope you're doing well!
Thanks again -Jen
